Welcome To Aero-Gro
In 1996, I moved back to Florida in my late twenties and was struck by the vibrant produce available, which I quickly learned was often far from organic. Growing up in Pennsylvania and living in Denmark, the lush fruits and vegetables in Florida seemed like a tropical paradise. However, I soon discovered that much of it was genetically modified and heavily treated with chemicals, which was alarming, especially as my mother was seriously ill and needed an organic, vegetable-based diet for her recovery.
Determined to grow our own chemical-free vegetables, we faced a setback when we learned we couldn’t plant in the garden of our condominium. Instead, we decided to use our sunny second-floor deck to try hydroponics, a method that fascinated me. I borrowed books from the local library, thinking it couldn’t be that hard. However, my initial attempts were frustrating and filled with mishaps.
Despite these challenges, we eventually found local hydroponic produce and connected with a supportive community that included skilled nutritionists and various healing practitioners. Through this journey, my commitment to healthy food and sustainable practices deepened, marking the beginning of my exploration into soil-less farming.
