Aero-Gro American Pure UV Defense RO System — Installed
American-made RO with two-pass UV protection
For customers whose water assessment calls for an additional microbial barrier, American Pure UV Defense combines reverse osmosis, specialized prefiltration, two-pass mineral balancing and patented Full Contact UV treatment.
The water passes through the same UV chamber twice: slowly before entering the storage tank and again immediately before reaching the dedicated faucet. It is Aero-Gro's most comprehensive under-sink package for properly pretreated private-well water and other appropriate microbial-risk applications.
Two-pass UV treatment • Made in the USA • Professional assessment required
Purification, system hygiene and final-point UV treatment
UV treatment is most useful when it solves a real water-quality need. Aero-Gro American Pure UV Defense is designed for customers whose source-water conditions justify an additional microbial barrier — particularly appropriately pretreated private-well applications.
The Home Master Full Contact UV design routes water through one UV chamber twice. The first pass occurs at the membrane's slow production rate before storage, increasing UV contact time and helping protect the storage side of the system. The second pass occurs immediately before dispensing, providing another treatment point at the faucet.
Why Aero-Gro selected UV Defense
- American-made foundation: Home Master represents its RO systems as made in the USA and uses an American-made membrane.
- Two UV passes: Water receives UV exposure before storage and again immediately before dispensing.
- Designed for microbial-risk applications: UV provides a chemical-free treatment barrier for susceptible microorganisms when properly sized, operated and maintained.
- Comprehensive pretreatment: Sediment and specialized media help improve water clarity before it reaches the UV chamber.
- Reverse-osmosis purification: The membrane reduces dissolved solids, metals, fluoride and many other dissolved contaminants.
- Mineral-balanced taste: Full Contact remineralization adds modest calcium and magnesium after purification.
- Professional commissioning: Aero-Gro installs, flushes, inspects and tests the system and explains annual UV-lamp and filter maintenance.
UV is powerful — but it is not a substitute for water testing
UV performance depends on water clarity, flow, lamp output and maintenance. Sediment, iron, manganese, hardness and color may require treatment before the under-sink system. If a private well is suspected of microbial contamination, laboratory testing and source correction may also be necessary. Aero-Gro evaluates those conditions before recommending UV Defense.
What the installed package includes
- Water assessment and installation-site inspection
- Home Master TMHP-FCUV HydroPerfection system
- Professional under-sink installation and dedicated faucet
- UV power connection review and safe cable placement
- System startup, flushing and leak inspection
- Before-and-after TDS testing
- UV lamp, filter and membrane maintenance walkthrough
- Local Aero-Gro support
Equipment: Home Master TMHP-FCUV
Configuration: RO, specialized prefiltration, Full Contact remineralization, storage tank and two-pass UV
UV wavelength: Manufacturer describes a 254 nm germicidal UV source
UV service: Lamp/module maintenance according to manufacturer schedule, generally annually
Electrical connection: Required
Warranty: Confirm the exact model-specific warranty terms at time of sale
Temperature note: Because the second UV pass occurs immediately before the faucet, the first few ounces may be warm after the system has been idle. Allow the water to run briefly if cool drinking water is desired.
UV does not remove dissolved chemicals or sediment and provides no lasting disinfectant residual. Performance requires suitable water clarity, correct installation, electrical power, proper flow and scheduled lamp service. When microbial safety is in question, use an accredited laboratory and follow applicable public-health guidance.

Frequently asked questions
Does every home need UV?
No. Properly disinfected municipal water often does not require point-of-use UV. Aero-Gro recommends UV when the water source, test results and customer risk profile make it useful.
Does UV remove lead, arsenic or dissolved solids?
No. UV targets susceptible microorganisms. The reverse-osmosis and filtration stages perform the dissolved-contaminant and particulate reduction work.
Can UV make unsafe well water safe by itself?
Not necessarily. Turbidity, sediment, iron, manganese, hardness and other conditions can interfere with UV, and the source of contamination may require correction. Testing and appropriate pretreatment come first.
Why might the first water from the faucet feel warm?
In the Full Contact design, stored water makes a second pass through the illuminated UV chamber immediately before the faucet. Water sitting in that chamber can warm between uses. Let the faucet run briefly for cooler water.
What happens during a power outage?
The UV lamp cannot treat water without electricity. Customers who depend on UV as a microbial barrier should follow the manufacturer's post-outage guidance and should not assume treatment occurred while the lamp was off.
Standard installation scope
Installed pricing covers a standard under-sink installation using an accessible, functional cold-water shutoff, suitable drain connection, available faucet opening and adequate cabinet space. Plumbing repairs, stone-countertop drilling, electrical work, refrigerator connections and unusual installation conditions are quoted separately — request a free water assessment and we'll confirm what your home needs.
